Powerful luxury high-end loudspeakers in direct sales
As a manufactory with customised individual production, we also offer the highest level of sales service in addition to production. Our premium speakers are sold directly. The natural, clear sound of our speakers can be experienced in our own showrooms in Salzburg. Direct contact with our customers enables us to find the best solution for their individual needs. This has already led to many exciting contacts and inspiring ‘listening appointments’.
Handmade in Europe
Whether it’s the experienced carpenter from Austria with many years of expertise in speaker construction, the supplier of special crossover components from Germany and Denmark or our partners from Norway and Germany, who produce speaker chassis specially developed for us – each partnership contributes to creating a unique sound experience.
We combine all these high-quality components in our factory in Neumarkt near Salzburg to create a work of art for the eyes and ears. The combination of craftsmanship and innovative technology is more than just the sum of its parts. The result is a total work of art that not only appeals to the senses, but also honours the bond with our European suppliers and reflects their expertise.
Outstanding design
Music is an art form that should be experienced in an appropriate setting. We worked with a product designer back in 2000, and the result of this collaboration was the Sculpture – a giant with a slim silhouette and numerous technical refinements.
Since 2014, we have been working with the Belgian product designer Stan Maes, whose extraordinary understanding of the combination of elegance and dynamics characterises the design of our speakers.

In the world of surfaces and designs, every speaker is not only an acoustic masterpiece, but also a visual delight that enriches your room. Whether it’s the choice of colours for the finishes, the range of veneers available or the look of the chassis trim ring, we want to ensure that your speaker perfectly matches your personal style.
Quality standard
Quality standards start with the development of loudspeakers.
Here we use advanced methods such as the finite element method to ensure that our products meet the highest standards. But that’s just the beginning. The selection of our suppliers is crucial to ensure that every step we take leads to perfection.
Even when it comes to manufacturing, we know no compromise. Our aim is to achieve outstanding pair equality in the speaker pairs. That’s why we subject all the chassis we use to a rigorous process: they are recorded for hours, measured and then selected in pairs.
This careful pairwise selection also applies to resistors, capacitors and coils before they are installed in our loudspeakers.
But that’s not all: every finished loudspeaker is compared with its twin loudspeaker and a reference measurement is carried out in our state-of-the-art measuring room.
A final listening test is the last step in our quality standards before the speakers are packed and dispatched.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site stands for a cultural diversity that is unrivalled. World-famous personalities such as Herbert von Karajan, Stefan Zweig and Hugo von Hofmannsthal have had a significant influence on the cultural development of the city. But the spirit of one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time hovers over everything: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In the immediate vicinity of this inspiring atmosphere, Acoustic Design develops loudspeakers that aspire to be no less than the best in the world.
We at Acoustic Design take advantage of the live music and festivals in Salzburg to gain sonic inspiration for our loudspeaker development.
Music is not coolly reproduced, but emotionally prepared and played the way you experience a successful concert of any musical genre: genuinely and passionately.
Our company building
In 2018, the company moved to its current location in Neumarkt am Wallersee, just 20 minutes from the vibrant centre of the city of Salzburg.
Since then, we have had over 400 square metres of space at our disposal to carry out the various development phases and the customised production of our speakers to the highest standards. The upper floor not only houses offices, but also two inviting demonstration rooms, which are acoustically modelled on normal living room conditions.
Our tuning room on the ground floor was developed in co-operation with a German acoustician. It is not only used for tuning new developments, but also as an inspiring environment for ‘listening tours’. The flexible acoustics of this room adapt to the respective requirements.
We carry out acoustic measurements of loudspeaker chassis and speakers in the impressive reverberation room measuring 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 metres.
In the listening rooms, we present various systems from renowned brands such as Accuphase, Linn, Roksan, Symphonice Line, Transrotor, Parasound, ToneArt, Audio Research and Cyrus. Our loudspeakers can be controlled with CD players, record players or via streaming. A place that combines technology and passion for perfect sound.
Company history
From Lautsprecher GbR via Audiodata to Acoustic Design GmbH
1982
Peter Schippers founded Lautsprecher GbR together with Detlef Schmidt.
1989
The existing GbR was renamed Audiodata Elektroakustik GmbH. Four years later, Detlef Schmidt left the company and Peter Schippers remained the sole shareholder.
2014
The loudspeaker division was relocated to Salzburg/Austria with the founding of Audiodata Lautsprecher GmbH.
The main shareholder of the newly founded company was Hannes Palfinger.
Audiodata Elektroakustik GmbH continued to exist as an independent company owned by Peter Schippers in Aachen / Germany.
2018
Audiodata Lautsprecher GmbH was renamed Audiodata Salzburg GmbH.
2018
Audiodata Salzburg GmbH moved to its new location in Neumarkt, 20 kilometres north of Salzburg. There, the optimal spatial conditions for loudspeaker development and production were created.
2024
We decided to change our name once again. The result was Acoustic Design Salzburg GmbH.
End of 2024
We opened a Nubert store (‘nuaudiostore’) in Salzburg, which also sells Acoustic Design products.
